Select one Student Book with all units bound together or individual units to provide more depth to an existing curriculum. Individual units may be purchased as a single copy or in packs of six copies of the same title. This flexible program, edited by Core Knowledge founder E.D. Hirsch, Jr. follows the Core Knowledge Sequence to teach key history and geography topics at each consecutive level. Teachers can purchase the textbooks in their entirety to teach the Core Knowledge curriculum. Select units can be purchased as individual books to meet specific curriculum needs.

Authors
Pearson Learning Core Knowledge is fully endorsed by the Core Knowledge Foundation and was edited by Core Knowledge founder, E.D. Hirsch, Jr., the founder and chairman of the nonprofit Core Knowledge. Hirsch founded the Core Knowledge Foundation in 1986 to promote excellence and fairness in early education. The foundation conducts research on curricula, develops books and other materials for parents and teachers, offers workshops for teachers, and serves as the hub of a growing network of Core Knowledge schools.
E.D. Hirsch, Jr. is an elected member of both the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the International Academy of Education. He has served on the Research Advisory Board of the U.S. Department of Education and, in 1997, received the Biennial Quest Award for Outstanding Contribution to Education from the American Federation of Teachers.
